Environmental awareness and management are the core values of the laboratory and are adopted by all the staff which is constantly trained on Environmental issues. Aliment Lab implements a series of actions according to the applied Green Policy, in the context of social responsibility, both for the protection of the environment and workers.
Indicatively in Aliment Lab:
- Upon completion of microbiological analysis, the Petri dishes with the cultures of micro-organisms and waste materials are placed in special bags and sterilized by autoclaving, so as to eliminate the risk of contamination during discharge.
- On completion of chemical analysis, fluids characterized as hazardous waste are collected by type (organic, liquid) in special flasks so as to be disposed to waste management companies.
- There is special washing machine for the laboratory glassware, so as to maximize power and water savings.
- Recycling of paper, batteries, toner / ink cartridges and old equipment takes place.
